This release includes a major change to the booking activity flow, which will make booking easier for both members and admins.
In this re-designed flow, we give the user a lot more flexibility in how they search and book rooms and equipment.
We’ve also introduced Operating Hours that limit booking times and simplify the timeline.
Given they are new features, we will be improving them over the next few releases.
New Booking Flow: Airbnb + Amazon like features for Simulation program management.
The user can now explore rooms in the booking flow, and look at the availability of a specific room.
The user can filter by room type, name or capacity, including preview images.
The user can see the room details, including stationed equipment, default prep time, and any special instructions.
The user can see the overall room availability on a calendar by seeing how busy the room is, and they can see availability based on their desired duration and in relation to the Operating Hours.
In addition to search by room, the user can search by date (or a combination of both). This additional flexibility allows the user to find the right room for their desired date(s).
Equipment booking now has filters that allow you to navigate and search, including filters for category, subcategories as well as a collection / bundle.
Full description, attachment(s) and details about the equipment viewable in the booking flow.
You can now add items to your cart and see your full equipment list for a booking.
In addition to attachments, you can now include URLs to the booking as supporting documents and information.
If you are just adding a room (no equipment, staff, attachment, instructions), you can skip the steps with the new menu short cut that zips through the booking process.
Admins can set operating hours that adjust bookable timeslots, found under
Admin > Company Settings > Operating Hours
- Because of this update, the timeline now shows operating hours by default, you can see non-operating hours by switching the toggle.
- This allows you to drag the booking outside of operating hours, allowing for override when necessary (in the next iteration of this, we will create more robust override options).
